As a former journalist for the Wall Street Journal, Jillian got her start in the world of filmmaking after she graduated from LaSalle University and got an internship on the set of Spike Lee’s movie, “Malcolm X.” Over the years, Jillian has continued to learn filmmaker and screenwriting in order to produce her own movies.

A creator and a woman of color, Jillian is an advocate for marginalized populations and she is a filmmaker who is making a social impact. Her projects not only entertain, but also educate and empowers audiences. She has also broken gender boundaries by becoming one of a handful of African-American female filmmakers who coordinates fight scenes in her movies using her extensive background in boxing and martial arts.
